The dancer learns to focus the mind.
What is taught in this class are the fundamental ‘building blocks’ of classical ballet technique ie. the pure basic steps, positions and movements, the very basic components which are integral to classical ballet. Through these exercises and most importantly through repetition children learn to focus their energies as their bodies begin to integrate the various movements and anticipate the next steps in musical sequence.
Repetition is an important training device for reinforcing the correct motor pathway so that movement can be achieved automatically before it can be combined with more complex actions.
